Inovemed’s focus, in its scope and in all its operations, is to contribute towards a thorough fulfilment of the human right to health. We do so by bringing good quality, safe, efficacious, and innovative pharmaceuticals to both developing and developed countries.
The members of Inovemed are guided by humanist ethics and hold the firm belief that the right to health is a fundamental human right, and therefore not only underpins but is indispensable for the exercise of other human rights.1,2
Currently, and more than ever, the right to Health comprises the access to healthcare, in the form of diagnosis, medicines and medical technologies. Present times have shown that healthcare must be truly innovative and fit for tackling both current and future global health challenges.
Inovemed embraces full-heartedly the Human Rights Guidelines for Pharmaceutical Companies in relation to Access to Medicines.3 Accordingly, we take its core principles seriously in everything we do.
With a focus on equality, transparency, and accountability, we distribute high-quality medicines while making them accessible to everyone without discrimination, regardless of their gender, age, ethnic and social background. We strive to promote global health equity, as we operate in a framework of availability, accessibility, acceptability, and quality. In this way, we work towards assuring the highest attainable standard of health around the globe, bringing pharmaceutical innovation through our products in a timely manner to a wide range of populations.
For various reasons (related to climate, geography, politics, and others), it is not always easy to ensure the access to quality pharmaceuticals, while abiding by international norms throughout the lifecycle of medicines. In many places around the world, quality assurance is still non-existent in regard to processes of manufacturing, transport, distribution, and storage.
Through the implementation of our System of Quality Management, which includes the qualification of suppliers, logistics service providers, and processes of risk assessments, Inovemed enables access to products that are compliant with international GMP and GDPs to all its partners around the world.
